I was recently invited to take part in a new journaling project being offered by the Ageless Mind Project (AMP). The project features conversations with experts in a variety of fields who are interested in finding ways for folks of all ages to develop and maintain ageless minds.
This month, AMP is featuring conversations with Phil Youngblood, a retired university professor and avid advocate for immersion in nature. He belongs to the Texas Master Naturalist Program where he hob nobs with a wide variety of fascinating folks who are equally excited about the natural world.
The Challenge
The journaling activity proposed by Phil (see the image at the top of this page) was to simply get outside and walk. My response, written after a friend and I spent an afternoon at a local nature preserve, is chronicled below. I hope you’ll consider accepting the challenge as well. Both the downloadable artwork and the activities are FREE . The link to AMP’s Substack annd instructions are at the bottom. As an added bonus, AMP may publish your work!

"anthropomorphizing", love it! Thank you for sharing it felt like a piece of spring!
Oh, I love this so much! I was on a walk on Saturday that would have been perfect. On my way to Illinois on Wednesday to puppy-sit my grandpuppy--I'll try to find us a place to walk that will fit this journaling project! Thanks for putting us on to this treasure, Jena!
