Wild at Heart

You’re invited to accompany me on a new adventure - an adventure that combines multimedia storytelling, a desire to learn from and with our animal family, and a commitment to bringing humanity back into balance with the natural world.
This new adventure grew out of the Whales in My Backyard Substack, where I’ve been chronicling my many encounters with animals over the years. But it was only when I began researching and writing my latest book, We Stand in the Middle - which uses the the culture and mindset of the Aniyvwiya (Cherokee) people as the story’s foundation - that I began to realize I wanted to do more than just “tell” stories. I wanted to create a community where people could:
Share their love for and experiences with animals;
Talk about the disconnect between humanity and the natural world;
Use multiple genres and media to create and share Anima (soul-based) stories about animals; and
Work together to help restore the balance between humanity and nature.
I call this community, “Wild Dialogs” because it speaks to something that runs beneath the linear, word-driven flow of our conscious minds and taps into our intuitive, creative, and spiritual selves as well.
Wild Dialogs is being hosted on Skool - a platform that’s been consciously designed to foster and support community. There I can not only share my writing and the writing of members of the group, but connect with other, like-minded people, run classes and webinars, and host live video chats as well.
